Questo aggiornamento risolve diverse vulnerabilità in Microsoft Office che potrebbero consentire l'esecuzione di codice remoto se un utente apre un file Office appositamente predisposto. Microsoft Office per Mac include versioni di Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote e Outlook che sono state progettate per il Mac, eppure sono Office inconfondibilmente. L'aggiornamento del 13 novembre 2018 fornisce correzioni per problemi della suite Office per Mac che riguardano Word, Excel e PowerPoint e nuove funzionalità.

A partire dalla versione 16.17 di settembre 2018, queste note sulla versione si applicano anche a Office 2019 per Mac, che è una versione di Office per Mac disponibile come acquisto una tantum presso un negozio al dettaglio o tramite un contratto multilicenza.
